Are these cars in the same performance tier? And what else did I miss?

I think the Toyota was more of a cruiser than a really high-po sportster.

They’re all sort of in the same GT/roadster platform coupe category, but they’re only mostly in the same performance tier. Differeny strengths, somewhat.

i think there’s a bit of a spread across the lux - sport spectrum up there.
that particular jag is a bit racy.

That’s what I thought, but I looked up the specs, and it’s more similar to a tuned Datsun than you’d think. A little short on engine, but wringing a lot out of what it has.

While true, we should probably leave the E-Type lightweight out, since it’s a race car. The others are all production models.
If it were production, I would rank them in the following order of performance. (without looking anything up)
Ferrari
Aston Martin
Jag
Corvette
Merc
Datsun
Toyota

The Jaguar is the one to have here, but as McMike pointed out, it’s not really a fair comparison because that’s a fully developed mid 60's racing weapon with arguably the most ass-kicking XK engine ever made.
The Ferrari and Aston are nearly identical performers from everything I’ve read, which is why people scratch their heads as to why the values are so different, but the Jag will wreck them both. The 2000GT is stunning but slow, the Z-car needs a lot of work to do anything really well (like that one’s received, perhaps), and the 300SL was a rocketship in 1955 but in this company is slow as well because it’s 5 years older than the Aston and Ferrari. The Corvette could accelerate faster than all of them depending on engine, but doesn’t do anything else without serious work.
I haven’t looked anything up, that’s just my take.

Knew the 250 GTO and DB5 were better calls.

They’re certainly closer to the Jag, though I prefer the SWB myself. The DB4Z and SWB are still pretty old-school cars under the skin.
